Where do we get canon info that Hotch was abused as a kid...? I keep seeing that EVERYWHERE and I know he vaguely references that in episodes (about growing up to catch them instead of be them) ...do we ever get more tangible evidence of his abuse!angst?

It has nothing to do with the cast, the Emmy's have their favorite shows, actors and actresses and if you don't meet their critera, then you don't get nominated. Lost got noms because it is the finale year but basically unless you are brand new and super hot, like Glee or are their favorite actor or actress or show, like Charlie Sheen and 30 rock, you don't stand a chance. Even if he got nominated, he wouldn;t have won, it will either go to Michael Fox or the guy out of breaking bad. Hugh Laurie and Michael C Hall should have won for years but they won't, why? Because one is British and the other plays a serial killer. So Thomas wouldn't have stood a chance even if he did. With how they have been the past few years, the emmy's are now a joke and none of the talented people get nominated because their face doesn't fit. |

I think you can count his reaction to children being abused, i mean if you look at how he was with the father in Exit Wounds when he went to the house of the killer and he knew what he had been doing, he was pissed as hell. But as for a background, we really don't have that much but i think if you look at how he behaves and his personality, it does give some indications of being abused. |

But the whole Foyet arc gave Hotch so much angst (the needed variety for character growth) and got rid of an annoying character (who was at first all sweet but started to turn real ugly real bad (namely on the episode with Hotch's b-day in it with Jack and Jessica in the mix too). Blah, plus the slash gods appreciate the opening in there for romance but since that'll bring us off topic I'll stop here. ^_^ All the same, Thom's acting was definitely intense in Season 5, and I think that's wonderful. |

Yeah, I was happy Haley died too. Not for the slash girl in, but because she was so mean to Hotch at the end of their marriage. I know it's not easy to be married to a cop and all, but have at least a little more understanding. She just didn't seem care.

...Myes, I did find it annoying how her character just became mean and evil and unnice all around, but that just gives more fuel to the H/R pairing ('I knew you're understand' XD)
