Ok, I just had an evil musing that I probably won't get around to writing before I forget about it-- so I'll put it out here for the others.
This, again, is EVIL... not hopelessly romantic-- every time we read a Hotch/Reid fic, there's usually a commonality attached when others find out about it, or the fear of 'this is what they'd think if they found out about us' -- that Hotch is using Reid for sex, and he doesn't really care for Reid like that, because he just CAN'T be emotionally attached (abused, divorced, then windowed... you pick where it comes in, don't much care). So, my challenge is to write a fic where it really is just about physical connections and the angst of unrequited love despite the fact that Reid's with the man he loves. Then, if your story gets so far-- maybe Hotch starts falling for Reid after Reid is falling out of love with him in order to protect himself, you know, resign himself to this 'condition of employment' only to get blindsided by some kind of happy ending or the whatnot...
Either way, it has to be Hotch being uncommitted to the relationship and Reid feeling hurt for it but having no one to turn to. Any takers...? I'll be working on Bogged Down soon.
