The H/R In The Novels Thread ...

So this a special requested thread by Vanessa because she wanted to post something out of one of the books so we now have a thread for it. If you have the books and you want to share all the H/R goodness out of them or discuss them, then here you can.

The following is an excerpt from Criminal Minds Jump Cut by Max Allan Collins, pages 98-99. It is the intellectual property of Jeff Davis the creator of Criminal Minds and MAC the author to this particular novel. That said, this excerpt is what the series should have had in it at LEAST once... but never did. More comments about it later though. <3

Hotchner came in, his suit immaculate even after a day in the warm weather interviewing street people; though Reid had helped solve his share of mysteries as a profiler, the young agent had no idea how his supervisor managed such feats.

Hotchner asked, "Any luck with the old reports?"

Shaking his head and pulling out his earbuds, Reid said, "I don't see anything that might help us understand this UnSub much less find him."

Briefly, Reid summed up the three missing persons.

Hotchner nodded, then drew up a chair, across from Reid. "Gideon thinks you're doing well. Back on your game. Do you agree?"

Chagrined that Hotch had brought up what he saw as his weakness, Reid nonetheless resisted the urge to turn away, forcing himself to maintain eye contact.

Without looking down, he paused the mp3 player. "Yes. I'm fine."

"Good," Hotch said. "We were worried about you for a while there."

"I was worried, too. I appreciate your concern. I won't let you down."

"That never occurred to me," Hotchner said with a rare smile. "What do you make of this case?"

Yeah, so, I read that... and I am glad SOMEONE AFFILIATED WITH THE EFFIN SERIES DID SOMETHING OR SAID SOMETHING... simultaneously, this entire book is a train wreck that is pretty much MAC macking himself to Gideon (the other two books he's macking himself to Rossi... he's just really NOT smart enough to write Reid as anything short of an idiot or an autistic robot... the insulting kind.) I didn't go further into the moments they DO have because it proves my point that he's an idiot so, just take a moment to fan-girl over SOMEONE taking some effin initiative to notice stuff. <3

I like the tiny H/R moment in Book 2 : Killer Profile where Prentiss made Reid go wake Hotch and Reid really didn't want to. LOL
